TIMES

 

8:30 for prompt 9 am start Saturday morning the 5th of April 2008, until 4.30 pm. Then Sunday 6th April from 9am until 1 pm for Lunch and conclude.

 

PROGRAM

Workshops run from Saturday morning to Sunday lunch.12 hours of instruction.

Prodesktop (Parametric CAD/ 3D Modelling software)Tutor: will be one of the excellent ProDesktop experienced trainers.

ProEngineer for those who feel ProDesktop limits them (must be ProDesktop licenced)

CAD/CAM Design and Manufacture hands on CADCAM  Ben Tam from http://www.qubic.com.au/
(using mill to manufacture PCBs, 3D laser scanning)

Electronics and Control Technology
(designing PCB’s, basic circuitry, investigating software, designing interfaces for systems control. Tony Pugatschew from http://intellecta.com.au )

Multi-media Flash and Animation for beginners Tutor: Peter Dettino and Darren Payne. Peter has taught multimedia at Bossley Park High for 7 years and will include the management of a multimedia class in his presentation.  Darren has done a range of Multimedia tasks at Hurlstone Ag High School. This will include information about teaching the Multimedia courses.

Looking Good Surface Decoration with the amazing Vaughn Richmond.  Vaughn is coming over from Perth to run this workshop and present at Minds On.  He has work exhibited in may prestigious places in the world.

Silver Jewellery Design and Making Tutor: Astrid Perdriau. Astrid has taught silver jewellery making for ?X?X many years from year 7 to year 12 with outstanding success. You will gain enough experience to teach this to your students in either Tech mandatory or Industrial Technology or Design and Tech.  The presentation will be flexible enough for beginners or expert level.

Wood Turning Tutor: Terry Baker (max 5 participants)

Furniture Design for beginners Tutor: Richard Vaughan. Richard is coming down from Brisbane to run this workshop, he is an internationally renowned wood craftsman and teacher. You have seen his work and articles in Wood review for years. See http://www.contemporaryfurniture.org/vaughan

Working with metal using “Metalcraft”  Tutor: Greg Cowie from Metalcraft with assistance from a teacher who has a long usage history of the equipment in schools. (pending)

Additional Information

 

A minimum of 6 participants will be required for a workshop to run (max 10).
In the event of a workshop being cancelled all monies paid to the IIATE for the weekend will be refunded if enrolment in an alternative workshop is not indicated.
