This ‘course’ is an initiative of the Institute of Industrial Arts Technology Education in conjunction with a number of partners including Don’t Panic STEM curriculum support. As of late September, the program has reached its limit of participants. Registration is closed.
Over the period Term 3 2017 to term 4 2018 over 100 teachers will be funded to cover course costs and material costs to participate in a program of accredited professional development over 3 non-consecutive days to develop skills and understanding in integrating digital technologies into their teaching.
Primarily focussed on the NSW Technology (mandatory) syllabus, the work is also relevant to primary school teachers and the NSW K-6 Science and Technology syllabus. Teachers of any STEM subject either integrative or as Science, Mathematics, Technology or Engineering will also find the course useful. eg Information and Software Technology Stage 5.
Teachers will attend the days in various venues around NSW, course costs are covered by the Digital Literacy Schools Grant. Teachers will be supplied, after completion of the 3 days of training, a unit of work, ongoing support and a kit of 22 sets of digital technologies hardware to integrate into the unit of work.
