  • Description

This is a course introducing educators to Fusion. Fusion (was F360) is Autodesk's leading CAD solution. It connects an entire product development design process in a single cloud-based platform that works on both Mac and PC.  Comparisons to PTC's Onshape will be demonstrated.  Using Autodesk Fusion you can create iterations of your design ideas, create assemblies and make photorealistic renderings and animations. You can generate tool paths and use the 3D printing workflow to create a prototype direct from the software.

Day 1 will cover, Introduction, setting up students, Teams, Projects, Sharing and setting up Classes with Autodesk accounts. Sketching, Extrusion and Bodies vs Components.  Generating a 2 D drawings with a Template from a single part design.

Day 2 is for those who have spent at least 50 hours with Fusion and are confident with Sketch and Extrusion.  This day will cover Loft, Sweep and Revolve. The use of components in multipart models and the generation of multi part 2 D orthographic dimensioned drawings.

This software is free to students and teachers.
Participants will leave the course able to model products suitable for high school technology and engineering subjects, meeting curriculum needs both now and in the future. They will be able to manage Autodesk Fusion in a school environment and develop resources for use in the classroom.

The presenter has extensive knowledge and experience with NSW Technology curricula, as NESA Technology Inspector, recently retired from that role.  You will see how this digital technology can fit new syllabus requirements.
